Bio

Eric MacKinnon enters his fifth season as Assistant Coach with Franklin Pierce in 2019-20. He will also begin his first full year as the Athletic Academic Coordinator for the University, a post he assumed in January of 2019. Working out of the Center for Academic Excellence, he serves as a liaison between the CAE and the Department of Athletics, helping to track and manage the academic progress of the institution's student-athletes.

A native of Easton, Massachusetts, MacKinnon graduated from Oliver Ames High School, where he earned Hockomock All-League Player honors his senior season. 

His talents led him to Salve Regina University, where he became a four-year letter winner with the Seahawks, appearing in 87 career games. For his senior campaign, he was named a captain of the squad.

In the classroom, he accumulated three appearances on the Dean's List, graduating in 2015 with a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education and History. With his academic achievements, he was nabbed for two appearances on the Commonwealth Coast Conference Academic All-Conference in 2014 and 2015.

Some of his other work on the hardwood has come as an employee for numerous basketball camps, including the Boston Celtics, Florida State University, University of Connecticut, Quinnipiac University, Harvard University, and Hoop Mountain.

MacKinnon completed his Master's Degree in Sports Management at Franklin Pierce in 2017.
