#10 Men's Basketball Wins Second Straight with 78-60 Win over Wilmington (Del.)

Eric Jean-Guillaume registers double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds

MANCHESTER, N.H. (November 10, 2012) -- Senior guard Eric Jean-Guillaume (Stamford, Conn.) tallied a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds on Saturday to lead the No. 10 nationally ranked Franklin Pierce University men's basketball team to a 78-60 win over Wilmington (Del.) at the SNHU Fieldhouse in Manchester. The Ravens won their second in a row to improve to 2-0, while WilmU dipped to 0-2.

Jean-Guillaume was 5-of-8 shooting from the floor as the Ravens shot 48 percent (30-of-62) from the field as a team. 

Junior forward Ellis Cooper (Northampton, Mass.) pumped in a team-high 15 points, while also collecting seven rebounds, which helped the Ravens own a commanding 46-33 advantage on the glass.

Junior guard Curtis Christian (Harlem, N.Y.) came off the bench to pump in a trio of three-pointers and log 11 points in all for the Ravens.

James Pee netted a game-high 17 points to pace WilmU's attack, while Herbertg Dennis chipped in with 14 points.

The Ravens scored seven of the game's first nine points and built a 15-point lead at 27-12 a little more than nine minutes into the contest. Six different Ravens scored during the opening surge. Christian, sophomore forward Ryen Vilmont (Philadelphia, Pa.) and sophomore guard Paul Dick (Belfast, Ireland) tossed in five points apiece during that stretch, while Cooper, Jean-Guillaume and senior guard Ant Lessane (Brooklyn, N.Y.) logged four points each.

Christian knocked down a three-pointer late in the half, while Cooper added a pair of free throws to help send the Ravens into the locker room at halftime with a 36-20 advantage.

Franklin Pierce kept up its fast-pace play in the second half and led by as many as 30 points in cruising home for the victory.

The Ravens turned in a solid defensive effort as they forced WilmU into 14 turnovers, while swiping six steals and blocking three shots. Franklin Pierce also held the opposition to just 36 percent shooting from the floor (23-of-63) for the game.

Franklin Pierce returns to action Wednesday night when the Ravens open their Northeast-10 Conference schedule by playing host to Merrimack at 7 p.m. in The Fieldhouse in Rindge.
