RINDGE, N.H. (October 20, 2017) – Senior forward Carly Canavan (Kingston, N.Y.) and senior goalkeeper Meaghan Williams (Salem, N.H.) of the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team have been selected to participate in the Victory Sports Tours/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division II Senior Game, as announced on Wednesday afternoon by the NFHCA. The duo is among 34 student-athletes selected to participate in the event.

The 2017 edition of the NFHCA Senior Game is set for Saturday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m., and will be hosted by Bellarmine University in Louisville, Ky. Bellarmine will host the semifinal round of the NCAA Championship the day before, while the national title game will follow on Nov. 19, at the University of Louisville.

Canavan and Williams have been in the process of re-writing the program record book in their final tour of duty. Canavan is the program’s all-time leader in career points (75) and her 31 goals is just three shy of the school’s career record. She is only the second player in school history to tally 30 career goals. Meanwhile, Williams has established program records for career wins (29) and shutouts (11), and is the only goalkeeper in school history to reach double digits in shutouts. She also stands second all-time in program history in goals-against average (1.79).

In her senior season, Canavan has tallied 17 points on five goals and seven assists, while starting all 15 games up front for the Ravens. For her career, she has played in 68 games and piled up 75 points on 31 goals and 13 assists.

As a senior, Williams sports the best goals-against average of her career (1.14), and has added a .779 save percentage to post a 9-6 record with four shutouts, while starting all 15 games. For her career, she has logged over 4600 minutes in net across 66 career starts, on her way to a 1.79 goals-against average, a .751 save percentage, a 29-37 record and 11 shutouts.

The Ravens return to the field on Saturday, Oct. 21, when they travel to Bentley for an NE10 contest. Game time is set for noon at Bentley University Turf Field in Waltham, Mass.
