(11/28/22) – A list of five members from the Franklin Pierce football team were named as recipients of College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors, with all being named to All-District I First Team. Per the official announcement last week, senior Eric Pilcher (Berwick, Maine), junior Luke Winslow (Lansing, N.Y.) and sophomores C.J Cerrella (Milford, Mass.), Camden Jordan (Turner, Maine) and Sam Kamara III (Old Bridge, N.J.) each met the criteria for selection.

(November 16, 2022) -- The Franklin Pierce University football team saw five players honored by the Northeast-10 Conference, including three All-Conference selections, on Wednesday afternoon, as the league announced its year-end awards. Graduate student running back EJ Burgess (Pearland, Texas), junior defensive lineman Chris Yeboah (Worcester, Mass.) and junior defensive back Tyvarius Daniels (Springfield, Mass.) all earned All-NE10 Second Team accolades, while freshman punter Alex Benitez (Belle Meade, N.J.) and freshman wide receiver Austyn Howe (Newington, Conn.) were named to the NE10 All-Rookie Team.

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (November 5, 2022) -- Graduate student quarterback Connor Degenhardt threw for 337 yards and six touchdowns on Saturday afternoon, as New Haven dealt the Franklin Pierce University football team a 50-6 defeat in the latter’s season finale. Senior Bryce Macina (Syracuse, N.Y.) threw for 121 yards for the visiting Ravens in the Northeast-10 Conference contest.

WATERBURY, Conn. (October 29, 2022) -- Senior Christian Keeling (Taunton, Mass.) rushed for a game-high 84 yards and two touchdowns, while freshman Alex Benitez (Belle Meade, N.J.) added 81 yards and another score, as the rushing game led the way on the offensive side of the ball for the Franklin Pierce University football team on Saturday, in a 42-19, non-conference victory on the road at Post. Senior quarterback Bryce Macina (Syracuse, N.Y.) added 136 yards and a pair of touchdowns through the air for good measure, while the defense chalked up seven interceptions to hold the Eagles at bay.

Football Falls to Pace in Home Finale, 50-7

RINDGE, N.H. (October 22, 2022) -- It was a matchup of the last two Northeast-10 Conference Offensive Player of the Year selections on Saturday afternoon at Sodexo Field, as graduate student running back EJ Burgess (Pearland, Texas) and the Franklin Pierce University football team squared off with graduate student quarterback Carlton Aiken and Pace. It was Aiken and his setters which had the better of things, as he threw for 294 yards and four touchdowns, while Burgess was held to 28 rushing yards on 14 attempts. In the end, it all added up to a 50-7 victory for Pace.

The Franklin Pierce University football team heads into its 2022 home finale following back-to-back road losses. At Polar Park against Assumption on Oct. 9, the Ravens lost 28-14. The Greyhounds controlled the game from start to finish, though graduate student EJ Burgess (Pearland, Texas) found the end zone for the first time this season. Last week against Southern Connecticut State, Franklin Pierce started slow, as the Owls took a 17-0 lead after the first quarter, on the way to a 37-20 win. The Raven offense came alive after halftime at SCSU, and head coach Russell Gaskamp believes the offensive line has improved over the last two weeks. However, he discussed there are injuries on both sides of the ball. There is a lot of work to be done as Franklin Pierce prepares for Pace University.

(October 18, 2022) -- For the second straight week, and the fourth time this season, freshman Alex Benitez (Belle Meade, N.J.) of the Franklin Pierce University football team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week, this time for the week ending on Oct. 16, as announced on Monday afternoon by the league office.

Football Finally Gets Offense Going, but Comes up Short at SCSU, 37-20

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (October 15, 2022) -- It was the offensive high-water mark of the season thus far for the Franklin Pierce University football team, as the Ravens scored 20 points and rang up 294 yards of total offense on Saturday afternoon at Jess Dow Field. It would not be enough though, as host Southern Connecticut State was able to build a 17-0 lead in the first quarter and held the margin throughout, on the way to a 37-20 victory over Franklin Pierce in the Northeast-10 Conference contest. Graduate student EJ Burgess (Pearland, Texas) posted his first 100-yard game of the season with a 136 rushing yards and a touchdown on 23 carries in defeat for the Ravens. Sophomore Marc Reali threw for 141 yards and a score, on just six completions, to lead the Owls to the win.

WORCESTER, Mass. (October 9, 2022) -- It was not your average Division II college football setting on Sunday afternoon, as the Franklin Pierce University football team and Assumption met at Polar Park, home of the Worcester Red Sox, the Triple-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. A pair of late scores for the Ravens tightened things up in the end, but Assumption largely controlled the proceedings in the City of the Seven Hills. The Greyhounds rang up 409 yards of total offense, including 221 on the ground, on the way to a 28-14 Northeast-10 Conference victory.

(October 1, 2022) -- It was Bentley early, Bentley often and Bentley throughout on Saturday afternoon at Sodexo Field, as the visiting Falcons dealt the Franklin Pierce University football team a 41-0 defeat in Northeast-10 Conference play. Senior Abel Lopes Jr. had a touchdown in each of the first two quarters, as Bentley build a 20-0 halftime lead en route to the shutout victory. Senior Bryce Macina (Syracuse, N.Y.) threw for 156 yards in defeat for Franklin Pierce.

Fresh off its first Northeast-10 Conference win in program history, against American International College, 7-3, on the road last weekend, the Franklin Pierce University football team now has its sights set on a big challenge against the Bentley Falcons. Ravens head coach Russell Gaskamp believes the team can beat anyone in the conference, but considered preparation this week to be critical, both in the film room and on the practice field. Bentley is physical on both sides of the ball, and Franklin Pierce is dealing with offensive and defensive injuries.
