Maxx Sheehan enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Franklin Pierce University baseball team in 2017.

Sheehan played two seasons in center field for the Ravens (playing bio) after transferring in from West Valley College. In just the two years in crimson and grey, he stole 66 bases, which allowed him to finish his career eighth all-time in program history, and he graduated with two of the top-five single-season stolen base totals in school history, with 37 in 2016 and 32 in 2015. Sheehan was an All-Northeast-10 Conference Third Team selection as a junior in 2015, when he hit .304/.415/.402, finished tied for fifth in the nation in stolen bases and led the Northeast-10 in runs scored.

One of the biggest highlights of Sheehan's career came near the end of his senior season, in the decisive game of the 2016 NCAA Championship East Regional, when he hit one of the most memorable home runs in program history (video). In the bottom of the seventh inning, he clubbed a two-run home run -- his first homer of the season -- to break a 3-3 tie and put the Ravens ahead to stay in what would become the program's seventh regional title.

Originally from San Jose, Calif., Sheehan is a 2016 graduate of Franklin Pierce, with a degree in sports & recreation management. He is pursuing his master's degree at Franklin Pierce as well.
