Balk-Off Sends JV Baseball Over Holyoke, 9-8
RINDGE, N.H. (April 12, 2011) – Sophomore first baseman Justin Dunham clubbed a double and a home run, while second baseman Jake Alconada reached base four times on Tuesday afternoon to lead the Franklin Pierce University junior varsity baseball team to a 9-8 win over Holyoke CC at Dr. Arthur and Martha Pappas Field. Freshman outfielder Zach Yates scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning on a game-ending balk.

Offense Fires on All Cylinders to Lead JV Baseball to 7-5, 12-4 Sweep of Bridgton
RINDGE, N.H. (April 9, 2011) -- Sophomore Frank Peloso had two hits, including a double, and scored twice in the first game, while outfielder Mike Rentschler collected three hits, including an inside-the-park home run, and scored three times in the second game on Saturday afternoon to lead the Franklin Pierce University junior varsity baseball team to a doubleheader sweep over Bridgton Academy at Dr. Arthur and Martha Pappas Field.

Perry Ninth-Inning Heroics, Strong Pitching Lead JV Baseball to Doubleheader Sweep at Massasoit CC
BROCKTON, Mass. (April 3, 2011) -- Freshman Carlos Ruiz tossed four no-hit innings in the first game, while freshman outfielder Marcus Perry provided a game-winning single I the ninth inning in the second game on Sunday afternoon to lead the Franklin Pierce University junior varsity baseball team to a doubleheader sweep at Massasoit CC. The Ravens took the first game, 4-2, before squeaking out the second game in extra innings, 5-4.

Seventh-Inning Run Fells JV Baseball at CCRI, 3-2
WARWICK, R.I. (March 31, 2011) -- Sophomore pitcher Matt Bidwell pitched seven innings of two-hit ball but suffered the loss on Thursday afternoon, as the Franklin Pierce University junior varsity baseball team fell, 3-2, at Community College of Rhode Island. CCRI won the game in its final at-bat with a game-winning single by right fielder Lyle Williams.

Pitching Fans 16, JV Baseball Opens Season with 6-2 Win Over Quinsigamond CC
RINDGE, N.H. (March 29, 2011) -- A pair of pitchers struck out 16 batters to lead the Franklin Pierce University junior varsity baseball team to a 6-2 victory over Quinsigamond CC on Tuesday night at Dr. Arthur and Martha Pappas Field. Freshman Carlos Ruiz struck out 11 batters over five innings, allowing only two runs. Sophomore Evan Kirsch pitched two scoreless frames to close the game out, striking out five batters. With the win, FPU opens the season at 1-0.
