Cavers Named Akadema Small College All-American by Baseball America

RINDGE, N.H. (June 21, 2004) Former Franklin Pierce catcher Eric Cavers (Otisfield, Maine/Oxford Hills) has added another All-America award to his list of accolades as he has earned a spot on the Akadema Small College All-America Team by Baseball America magazine. Cavers is the first player in program history to earn a spot on the magazines small college team, made up of players from NCAA Divisions II & III as well as the NAIA.

(June 1, 2004) Franklin Pierce first team All-American Eric Cavers (Otisfield, Maine/Oxford Hills) was named the Louisville Slugger Most Valuable Player as he led the College Division (Divisions II & III) to a 9-6 victory over the University Division (Division I) at the 30th Annual New England College Baseball All-Star Game at Fenway Park on Sunday night.

The announcement was made today in conjunction with the NCAA Division II College World Series in Montgomery, Ala.

(May 15, 2004) Top-seeded Franklin Pierce claimed its second ECAC Division II Baseball Championship over the last three years with a commanding 14-2 victory in game three of its championship series with third-seeded Wilmington (Del.) College at Crystal Field this afternoon. Wilmington forced the third game with a 10-7 triumph in todays first game.

(May 11, 2004) Franklin Pierce has been named the top seed and host of the 2004 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II Baseball Championship to be held on campus May 14-15. Joining the Ravens in the three-team modified double-elimination event are second-seeded New Jersey Institute of Technology and third-seeded Wilmington (Del.) College, both from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.
