RINDGE, N.H. (September 22, 2015) – Freshman James Bisazza (West Barnstable, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University men's tennis team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week, as announced Tuesday by the Conference office. In addition, four Ravens were named to their sport's Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll.

Bisazza played his way into the quarterfinal round of the 'A' Flight singles at the USTA/ITA East Region Championships in Philadelphia. He was the farthest-advancing Northeast-10 Conference student-athlete at the event. Bisazza had a 6-2, 7-6 (3) win over Chestnut Hill's Adam Gavin in the second round; a 7-6, 1-0 (ret.) win over Stonehill's Thomas Bellio in the third round; and suffered a 6-1, 7-5 defeat to Concordia's Lorenzo Montegiorgi in the quarterfinal round.

ON THE HONOR ROLL

- Meaghan Williams (Salem, N.H.), field hockey -- The sophomore goalkeeper piled up 15 saves on Saturday at Assumption, which was a new career high, though in a losing effort.

- Marius Preber (Jessheim, Norway), men's soccer -- The senior forward picked up five points on two goals and an assist in a 2-1-0 week for the Ravens.

- Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.), women's cross country -- The senior ran a 5k time of 18:53.27 (6:04.8 average mile) to finish 21st in the 315-runner field at Saturday's UMass Dartmouth Invitational, leading the Ravens to a 21st place finish, out of 42 teams.

- B.J. Smith (Concord, N.H.), men's cross country -- The junior ran a five-mile time of 25:37.18 (5:07.5 average mile) to finish 10th out of 324 runners at Saturday's UMass Dartmouth Invitational. He was the first of three Ravens in the top-20, leading the team to a fourth-place finish, out of 43 teams.
