Institution Transfer Policy

Effective Fall 2011

For student-athlete who receive athletics financial aid, in accordance with NCAA Bylaw 14.5.1 Franklin Pierce University has an intra-conference transfer policy. If a student-athlete participating in a Northeast-10 Conference sport transfers from Franklin Pierce to another conference institution he/she will have to establish one calendar year (full-time enrollment for two semesters) of academic residency, excluding summer school, at the new institution before being eligible to compete in that conference sport. Should the student-athlete participate in a sport not sponsored by Franklin Pierce he/she will be eligible immediately to compete in that sport only.

A student-athlete transferring from Franklin Pierce may utilize the provisions of NCAA Bylaw 14.5 for an exception to the intra-conference transfer policy if:

1) Franklin Pierce drops the sport or major in which he/she is participating,

2) the student-athlete’s athletically related financial aid is not renewed by Franklin Pierce, or

3) the student-athlete was not receiving athletically-related financial aid.

In the event of an extraordinary, extenuating circumstance and on a case-by-case basis the Director of Athletics may consider a waiver of this policy.
